An enthralling mixture of human drama, reportage, natural history and travelogue introduced by rising star Holly Carroll, all in 3D.
The Great Apes is a 3D filming project that ventures deep into the jungles of the Congo, Rwanda, Sumatra, Borneo and Tanzania, to capture the world’s largest primates in their natural habitats. Witnessing these magnificent animals in their remote homeland is a privilege that few people are granted and sadly, as great ape populations continue to decline, is one that may be extinct if greater action isn’t taken. The film follows the personal journey and quest of young and feisty conservationist, Holly Carroll who, fuelled by a life-long deep seated passion, armed with her degree and motivated by a genuine desire to protect the world’s endangered primates, enlists the talent and support of the some of the world’s best natural history filmmakers to make a film to expose the plight of the Last of the Great Apes. Using the latest 3D filming techniques and technologies, Australian film company, Visionquest Entertainment, helps Holly to document and share her adventures. The rich sights and strange sounds of the jungle leap will from the screen and audiences will hold their breath as they find themselves staring into the eyes of a 400 pound silverback mountain gorilla. Holly’s adventure brings her face-to-face with the poachers, animal smugglers and loggers who put the survival of the world’s great apes at risk. Holly willingly joins the war to help the great apes’ desperate, and perhaps final, battle for survival. This amazing journey will be shared globally through a 3D cinema release next year and be supported with a TV series. A Kreo Films FZ-LLC project. |
